Scope
This module is about skills and knowledge relating to building team which includes:
Direct and indirect line management
Partnerships and community groups
Internal and external
Functional and cross functional teams
Project teams
This module relates to non-operational contexts
Skill Objectives
Planning and allocating team tasks
Identify existing team skills, competence, strengths and weaknesses, allocate work, matching tasks and activities to competence and strengths. Set clear and measurable team and individual objectives
Motivating and empowering teams
Build on strengths and provide opportunities for development, encourage communication across the team, anticipate and manage actual and potential conflict and barriers to effective team work. Provide constructive individual and team feedback. Support achievement of team goals including accessing internal and external support services.

Principles of effective teamwork and their application in the working context
Types of teams and their operation in relation to specific purpose
How to set team objectives which match team purpose, working context and goals
How to review and manage team performance in light of changing priorities
How to identify, build and develop team strengths
