Scope
This module is about day to day management of performance of people for whom you have line management and/or functional responsibility
Skill Objectives
Motivation and leadership
Provide direction and support to enable individuals and teams to achieve their objectives. Motivate teams and individuals to achieve using a range of tools and techniques. Provide guidance on policies, procedures and working practices and their application in the workplace. Lead by example. Identify difficulties and barriers to effect work performance and agree solutions.
Objective setting
Set clear, measurable and realistic objectives for individuals and teams. Review and update objectives in line with actual performance and changes in corporate and functional objectives.
Manage the work environment
Support and enable individuals to achieve their objectives through the provision of sufficient, relevant resources and working conditions.
Counselling and advising
Make time available to support people and provide guidance and support including referral to relevant agencies and specialists.
