Careers Information - National Events

Careers information on offer through National events

Anyone who has dreamt of being a firefighter, lawyer or even joining the Armed Forces will be able to access a wealth of information through Skills for Justice.

As National Careers Week took place from March 5-9, Skills for Justice has developed a wide range of career information resources on roles from being a police officer to providing voluntary support to crime victims.

Skills for Justice has created the Career Pathways portal on its website. The portal, developed with the support of Christie & Christie Ltd and Careers Writers Association, has been designed to help individuals, from both inside and outside the Justice, Community Safety and Legal Services sector, to navigate their way through the maze of progression routes and job roles.

The Careers section also contains information on jobs in each of the sectors it covers, including job profiles, video case studies and information on routes into each career.

Representatives from Skills for Justice were also at the National Careers Guidance Show in Edinburgh on March 28 to talk about the careers available in the justice, community safety legal, local government and Armed Forces sectors.

The National Career Guidance Shows are the UK’s leading events for careers guidance professionals. Packed with relevant content for careers professionals the shows feature:

  • Popular and relevant seminars all CPD certified by the Institute of Career Guidance
  • Specialist workshop programme developed by Skills Development Scotland
  • Over 50 organisations offering the latest careers resources and information from a range of industries
  • A chance to network and share best practice with colleagues from across the country

Free to visit, The National Career Guidance Show Scotland is ideal for practitioners, advisers, teachers, managers, career guidance students and policy makers; working with young people and adults in all aspects of career guidance.

Sponsored by the Scottish Government and Skills Development Scotland, the National Career Guidance Show Scotland will help visitors find the resources they need to provide a professional service for their clients and students. Organisations including sector skills councils, employers, training and education providers and examination boards will be there to meet visitors in a relaxed, informal environment.
